A mother of a toddler with Down syndrome admitted that she ‘cried happy tears’ when her daughter was gifted a special doll that looked just like her.

Toddler Olive Mohlman, from O’Fallon, Illinois, was surprised on her second birthday with a doll that was specially designed by her mother Kimberly, 39, to look like her.

The doll has a short brown bob with a fringe, resembling Olive’s own hairstyle, and wore a baby blue leotard while she was designed to look just like Olive in every way.

In an adorable home video, taken by Kimberley on March 5, Olive is seen excitedly unwrapping her personalized doll and examining her new toy.

The sweet tot pulls the doll out of the box and puts it into a standing position with her help of her father before closely looking at the face of the doll.

Olive lets out a giant ‘ooooo’ as she looks in amazement and shock at her new toy, before holding her doll in a tight embrace, patting her on the back and giving the doll kisses on the cheeks.

Doting mother Kimberly admitted that she ‘cried happy tears’ when she saw Olive lay eyes on the doll for the first time.

Speaking of the beautiful moment, Kimberly said: ‘I was such a proud mom seeing her reaction – you could tell she loved it so much.

‘Her little surprised reaction was so cute then I cried happy tears and my heart just burst with joy when I saw her do the back pats.

‘The response has been beyond supportive and overwhelming – everyone loves her so much.
