Hailey Bieber reveals the mental and emotional struggles of being ‘torn apart’ on social media: ‘It weighs on my heart’

Hailey Bieber is fed up with online hatred, but is approaching it from the heart.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram with a lengthy appeal for more kindness and connection in 2020.

With over 24 million followers and being married to one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, Hailey gets plenty of attacks from trolls, and Friday isn’t the first time she has pleaded for it to stop.

Be kind: Hailey Bieber took to Instagram on Friday with a lengthy appeal for more kindness and connection in 2020

Alongside a scenic photo of crystal clear water on a beautiful, sunny day, she explained what she experiences online.

‘Instagram, Twitter etc is SUCH a breeding ground for cruelty towards each other,’ the model wrote. ‘And because people don’t take the time to connect with each other on an honest level before they resort to hatred, it starts to damage what could be really beautiful human interaction and connection.’

Though she would like to rise above, Hailey shared that the slew of online hate does get to her.

Writing: ‘I could sit here all day and say the hate doesn’t bug me, that the words that are said don’t affect me. But NEWS FLASH: it hurts to be torn apart on the internet!!!’

She began her post by explaining how much she loves connecting with other people.

‘I would say my most favorite part of existing is human connection. I absolutely love connecting with other people,’ Hailey wrote. ‘I love finding common interests between me and others, hearing people’s story, I love laughing with others, and I love crying with others. I feel so very very deeply.’

It’s for her deep feelings and empathy she believes she takes hurt and hate so deeply.

‘I do my best to expose my heart which means I love freely and I empathize deeply, and because of that I also hurt very easily when I feel like people don’t see my heart and see me for who I am and the reason I’m even sharing this.’

Last year, Hailey clapped back at trolls and wished they knew her heart, after she received hate and fans said she would always come second to her husband’s ex Selena Gomez.

Possibly referencing the incident she continued: ‘It hurts to be compared to other human beings every single day, it hurts for people to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. It hurts to be called names, and to feel like you don’t measure up to a certain standard.

‘I share this only because it weighs often on my heart and because it’s important to be honest about how these things affect us mentally and emotionally.’

Hailey hoped to help others by opening up about her experience and wished everyone a Happy New Year and a hope to ‘connect more in 2020.’

Hailey and Justin married in 2018, just months after his final split from Selena.

Justin and Selena dated on and off from 2010 until 2018, and the songstress released two singles late last year, widely believed to be about the split.

The Canadian pop-star released his first single in years on Thursday, writing about his wife in the track Yummy.
