The boy – who only spoke English – tearfully told the driver Josef Chodounsky he was lost.

The video shows the tram stop on the Ujezd street near Hellichova tram stop before the boy runs over.

‘You lost your parents?’, Mr Chodounsky can be heard saying, before adding ‘Ok, don’t worry – are they in the tram?’

The boy boards the vehicle and they drive to the next stop – where they luckily manage to spot his parents.

‘There!’ shouts the boy, pointing, before he thanks the driver and jumps out the tram.

Posting the video on social media, Mr Chodounsky said: ‘All crying, he tried to tell me in English what had hit him. I knew it right away, loaded it up and hurried to the next stop, where I expected to see impatient parents.

‘Everything turned out well and the family reunited in their arms.’

‘He tried to watch the tram for a while, but of course it disappeared in the distance. When I saw his desperate expression, I immediately stopped by to find out what had happened to him because I hadn’t noticed it first.

‘Through tears, he tried to tell me in English what had happened.’

‘Honestly, I have long considered whether to post a video of this event because bad people might find some violations, but you know what? It’s Christmas, and every help to your neighbour is all the more pleasing.

‘Even my mood cannot spoil any possible punishment.’

Mr Chodounsky was concerned about posting the video due to a new regulation that forbids Prague tram drivers from sharing video taken from their routes online.
