H&M sales fall as demand for fast fashion falters

Sales at H&M have tumbled as demand for fast fashion wobbles.

Sales at the world’s second largest fashion retailer dipped 4 per cent to £4.8billion over the three months to November 30 compared to last year.

The update comes as shoppers have fallen out of love with fast fashion in recent years.

Purring: Earlier this year H&M hit the headlines when Jerry Hall appeared in an advert modelling a little black revenge dress shortly after her split from Rupert Murdoch

Spending was dented by unseasonably warm weather in September, with a late heatwave in the UK, which put off shoppers from buying autumn ranges.

Trading was also hit by a decision to close stores in Russia and Belarus because of the war in Ukraine.

Earlier this year H&M hit the headlines when Jerry Hall appeared in an advert modelling a little black revenge dress shortly after her split from Rupert Murdoch. ‘Oh baby, I feel so good,’ she purrs in the advert.
