Hoppers Crossing: Two thieves on stolen scooter steal an inflatable Christmas decoration from a home

Brazen Christmas thieves steal an inflatable Santa decoration in broad daylight from a front yard in Melbourne – and the getaway scooter isn’t theirs either

  • Two thieves, wearing helmets, have stolen an inflatable dog dressed as Santa 
  • Decoration was taken from a home in Hoppers Crossing, VIC, on November 26
  • Thieves escaped on a scooter believed to have been stolen the day before 

Two brazen thieves have dampened one home’s Christmas spirit by stealing an inflatable dog dressed as Santa from a front yard display. 

The men, who can be seen on CCTV wearing helmets, stole the decoration from a property in Hoppers Crossing, 23km south-west of Melbourne, on November 26. 

Footage showed the duo then fled the scene with the decor hastily strapped to the back of a scooter.

The white scooter, with registration plate 1Z4FY, is believed to have been stolen from a home in the same suburb the day before.

Victoria Police have released CCTV and an image of two men who they believe may be able to help with the investigation.  

One of the men is described as being Caucasian with black clothing and a red helmet.

Meanwhile, the driver is also wearing black clothing and has a black helmet on.
