Horror as man falls to his death ‘from 19th floor’ of London tower block at 4am

  • Police confirmed man ‘fell from height and died’ in Kennington, south London 
  • Officers added the death, at around 4am, is ‘not being treated as suspicious’ 
  • Witnesses reported hearing a ‘loud bang’ at the time of the horror fall today 

A man has died after ‘falling from the balcony of a south London tower block’ at 4am today.     

Police tents were erected near bins outside a housing complex in Kennington, south London after a man ‘fell from a height and died’.

Witnesses reported hearing a ‘loud bang’ from outside the building in the early hours. Others alleged a man had fallen from a balcony on the 19th floor. 

Metropolitan Police tonight confirmed a man ‘fell from height and died’ prior to the arrival of paramedics.

Officers added the death is ‘not being treated as suspicious’.      

Metropolitan Police said: ‘A cordon was in place outside Ebenezer House, Kennington Lane, SE11 earlier today after a man fell from height and died.

‘Police were called at 04.13hrs on Sunday, 2 August by LAS who were at the scene.

‘The man fell from height prior to the arrival of emergency services. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘A cordon which was put in place has now been removed.

‘The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM’s Coroner.’

Metropolitan Police tonight confirmed a man ‘fell from height and died’ prior to the arrival of paramedics

Witnesses who live nearby reported hearing a ‘loud bang’ from outside the building early in the morning.

One woman said: ‘I live in the block and heard a loud bang this morning around 4am.

‘People are saying someone jumped or fell from one of the balconies and they landed in the skip.’

Another resident said a man ‘probably from the 19th floor’ had fallen from the balcony before ‘four police vans’ arrived at the scene.
