  • There are six different furniture ideas, and the kits are available for free online

The annual gingerbread house just got an interior makeover – with the launch of edible flat-pack, bake at home furniture.

The gingerbread furniture is part of Ikea’s Christmas offerings, and includes bite-sized designs of some of their most iconic pieces including a bed, armchair and book case.

The replica furniture looks amazing once it has been pieced together – and there is always room for some artistic flair with books, pillows and table decorations easily created from left over dough.

There are also a limited number of gingerbread home kits, which come with cookie cutters to take the hard work out of making the edible furniture.

However these are a promotion for Ikea members, and cannot be bought. Members must make a purchase at the store or online and scan their card to go into the draw for the cookie cutters.

Ikea also sell gingerbread houses for the holiday season.
