A shocking image has emerged showing a car driving with a bundle of bicycles strapped to its roof on a busy highway.  

The dashcam footage was taken by a trailing car on the Western Motorway in Eastern Creek, New South Wales, on Christmas Eve.

A silver car was seen travelling along the M4 with a pile of children and adult bicycles stacked on top of it.

The P-Plate driver seemingly secured the stack by wrapping rope around the large stack of bicycles. 

The image has sparked debate online, with some users questioning how the driver explained themselves to authorities. 

‘I want to see the conversation this young driver has with the constable: “I was challenged by my mates to see how many I could stack on my car”,’ one commenter said. 

‘Credit where credit is due, that’s one hell of an amazing stacking effort!,’ Another said. 

Others joked about the driver stealing children’s presents on Christmas. 

‘Wonder how kids are missing their Christmas present.’

‘Is it real or Photoshopped? I don’t care if it is an old photo or not, just is it real?,’ One user asked.
