Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku is set to miss his side’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid due to injury.

Lukaku suffered a muscle injury in Inter’s goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk last week and was absent for their 2-2 draw with Parma in Serie A at the weekend.

As reported by Marca, Lukaku wasn’t present as Inter trained on Monday, in what will be a significant boost for Real ahead of Tuesday’s game at The Bernabeu.

The Chile international had been out injured himself but is now closing in on a return and was involved in training.

Defender Milan Skriniar also trained after recovering from coronavirus.

Both Inter and Real have got off to inauspicious starts in the Champions League. Inter have two points from their opening two games, while Real have just one, meaning Tuesday’s encounter takes on extra significance. Shakhtar Donetsk are top of the group with six points, while Borussia Monchengladbach are second with two points.

Real, meanwhile, will be without Eder Militao after the defender tested positive for coronavirus.
