James Charles DENIES singing the N-word during a New Year’s Eve video

James Charles has denied saying the N-word when sharing a video of himself on Instagram singing a song, but not all followers are convinced. 

The YouTuber, 20, found himself in the middle of accusations on New Year’s Day when multiple Twitter users shared the video of himself singing Saweetie’s My Type, which includes the N-word multiple times in the lyrics.

Viewers thought Charles said the N-word twice during the quick clip from New Year’s Eve, but he has since spoken out to deny that he used the offensive term, insisting he wouldn’t be that ‘stupid’.

One Twitter user messaged Charles asking if he sang the words. 

‘Turn up the volume & listen, I skip over it,’ Charles responded. ‘How stupid would I have to be to confidently record a video of me singing the n word and still have it up the next morning.’

After the video circulated online, the hashtag, #JamesCharlesisoverparty, trended on Twitter with people not believing the famed beauty influencer avoided saying the word. 

People online implored others to stop supporting Charles. 

‘Holl up james charles FILMED HIMSELF saying the n word then decided to upload it to his public account and STILL hasnt deleted it or addressed it????? Lets leave this clown in 2019,’ one person wrote.

Last year Charles was ‘cancelled’ after fellow YouTuber Tati Westbrook accused him of being inappropriate towards straight men.

The feud between the YouTubers caused Charles to lose millions of subscribers on his channel, but he later gained them back after explaining his side of the story. 

He currently has 16.4 million subscribers on YouTube alone.

Not surprised: Other Twitter users were not shocked Charles was in another controversy, but they were tired of fans 'cancelling' the YouTuber and then supporting him again

Now, following the drama with the singing video, people are getting mad at the community for claiming to ‘cancel’ the YouTuber again. 

‘Apparently james charles said the n word .. but we already knew how james is, but y’all cancel him every other month and then still [follow] him a month later, and buy his shit,’ an annoyed Twitter user wrote. 

Another person commented on the situation, writing: ‘Y’all I can’t f**king do this again. if ur gonna cancel someone, KEEP THEM CANCELED.’ 

The situation happening right after New Year’s Eve also encouraged some people to have their fun about Charles getting ‘cancelled’ by followers. 

‘James Charles is officially the 1st person to be cancelled in 2 different decades and 2 consecutive years,’ a user joked. ‘Congratulations sister!’

Charles did not lose all support from his followers, though. 

There were many people online also coming to the defense of their favorite YouTuber by stating he did not sing the N-word during the song. 

‘I watched that video of James Charles 15x yesterday and he really didn’t say the n word,’ one fan claimed. 

Other people said it was clear he ‘skipped over it’ when the point happened in the song. 

Charles has not commented on the situation since his tweet claiming he did not sing the word.
