Australian fashion stylist Jules Sebastian has revealed the $5 product she swears by for making cafe-style poached eggs at home.

The mum-of-two and wife of singer Guy Sebastian said she uses Wiltshire compostable ‘Poachies’ – non-stick bags that poach eggs perfectly every time without you having to swirl hot water or add vinegar.

‘I’m the biggest lover of brunch and will always order a poached egg when I’m out because I can’t make one myself at home,’ Jules said in a video on Instagram.

‘I have never been able to nail poached eggs, I’ve tried the swirling of the water and the vinegar… it’s always an explosion or I always overcook them.’

The 41-year-old said she’s been able to perfect her poached eggs at home in less than 10 minutes – simply by using the Poachies, which come in a pack of 20 – meaning they cost just 25 cents each.

‘This is actually amazing. I have tried and tested these, and guess what? I made a perfect poached egg and it was delicious, runny and excellent,’ she explained.

The TV presenter started by boiling a pot of water.

She then placed a Poachie into a cup, with the top flaps open, and cracked an egg into it.

She repeated the step with a second egg, Next she gripped both flaps together and immerse the bags vertically into the gently bubbling water.

Jules allowed the eggs to poach in water for four to six minutes. Once the eggs are cooked to her liking, she removed the Poachies with tongs.

‘Perfection,’ Jules said, as she cut into the eggs.

‘Test taste time. This is restaurant quality… I would pay money for this,’ she said.

‘The eggs are poached to perfection. I’m shocked that I’ve made this. [Poaching eggs] is something I can’t do but now I can. Absolutely amazing.’
