With the NHL season ramping up towards the playoffs, Jimmy Fallon decided to get some hockey lessons from hockey enthusiast and Canada‘s own Justin Bieber.
The 25 year old pop star hit the ice with the 45 year old host for a pre-taped segment on The Tonight Show on Thursday night.
The segment comes just before his new album Changes is released, with Bieber scheduled to perform on The Tonight Show on Friday with Quavo.

The segment began with Jimmy and Justin ‘gearing up,’ though Fallon thought it was ‘the dumbest thing’ they needed so much gear on.
Bieber then explained that a puck is, ‘really hard,’ as a justification for all of the padding needed to play hockey.
When Bieber was tightening Fallon’s skates, the host asked the singer who his favorite hockey player, and he said, ‘Alexander Nordique,’ and when Fallon said he was ‘cool,’ Bieber admitted, ‘I just made him up, he’s not really a player.’

Once they got suited up – with Fallon wearing New York Rangers gear and Bieber representing his favorite NHL team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Bieber began by trying to teach Fallon how to skate, telling him to push off with his right foot, and then his left, but Fallon wasn’t quite getting it.
Fallon thought he was getting, repeating, ‘pizza french fries, pizza french fries,’ but Bieber reminded him that’s a beginners skiing lesson.

Fallon couldn’t quite get there, failing to stop and even stand on his skates, with Bieber dragging him part of the way.
Bieber then showed off his stick handling skills before teaching Fallon how to perform a backhanded shot.

They then moved to a shootout, with Bieber going ‘head to head’ with Fallon, though Fallon couldn’t muster a goal and Bieber scored three impressive goals, including a behind-the-back shot that Fallon gushed over.
Bieber then took a victory lap, riding on a Zamboni with Fallon while singing his home country’s national anthem, O Canada.
