Kelly continued: ‘Especially as a woman, it’s like, “Don’t let ’em see you sweat.”‘

She added: ‘I just love that you’re open about that because not everybody is as vulnerable at being like that and I think it’s helpful for your fans because I know for a meet and greet, you probably get people saying that “I do too. ”

Kelly said: ‘Man, thank for just being open in your songs and being open with everybody because I felt like this was just me and like knowing that somebody else going through it makes you not feel alone and so depressed about it, so thank you for doing that. It’s really hard.’

Demi responded: ‘You were, like, the first idol that I ever had. I wouldn’t be the artist – or even the person that I am, with being so outspoken and vulnerable and fearless – if I hadn’t had you to look up to, so I thank you for that.’

The 27-year-old singer/actress said: ‘When I was younger, I always thought to myself, “If I ever make it, I want to be like her because she’s real and she’s genuine.”‘

Kelly said: ‘I think the thing about it is even though your saying “oh your strong, courageous” all those things, I’m not all the time. Its takes work, Like I think that’s the thing everybody looks at us like, even though you overcome something, they’re like, “Ok she’s already overcome that.” No, no. That’s a daily effort – trying to be positive.’

‘And it’s not like a given, like your just over it like you went to some magical therapy session and its over. I think that’s a daily thing you work at and I think I work at.’

Another insider revealed that work had put a lot of strain on their relationship and the pair had ‘been like friends for a while’.

The source explained: ‘Things had changed in their marriage and the split was a while coming. They both work so hard. It’s nearly impossible to enjoy each other, especially with the children needing constant attention.’

‘Kelly’s been through a lot, and she thought Brandon was her happily ever after. It’s very sad.’

Kelly and Brandon had been quarantining together in Montana with their kids and his children, Savannah and Seth, and Kelly previously admitted it was an ’emotional rollercoaster’ in an interview with Glamour UK.

The I Dare You singer admitted life has been ‘really hard’ while isolating at home due to the coronavirus pandemic because she’s been having to juggle all her work commitments – she still does her talk show and is working on a new album – with attending ‘non-stop’ to the needs of her children.

‘Honestly, I have been on an emotional roller coaster,’ she said in the interview seemingly conducted before she split from husband Brandon earlier this month. ‘This has been really hard as a working parent, because I’m still doing all the same jobs.’

The crooner added, ‘It’s been exhausting honestly, cooking every meal and cleaning nonstop after toddlers and teenagers!

‘Everybody’s learning from home now and the teaching! So, everything has been crazy.’

The singer admitted she’s had to remind those she works with about her family commitments because she doesn’t want to be an ‘absentee mom’ to her children.
