Eagle-eyed shoppers have been left in stitches after stumbling across a bizarre $16.95 reusable bag featuring an eyebrow-raising animal print.

The controversial shopping bag, made by Australian accessories company La La Land, depicts different wild animals mating.

Described as a ‘cheeky fun everyday bag to stand against the ordinary’, the Wild Fur You Market Bag was recently spotted at an upmarket department Myer store.

One sharp customer posted a snap of the bag on social media along with a caption that read: ‘Need a new shopping bag?! Might need to do a double take!’

‘Pretty sure my mumma bear isn’t wanting this bag for Mother’s Day,’ the admin of Mum Central Facebook page said.

‘Thanks for the cheeky reminder on how it all began though. I’m sure it’d get lots of double takes! Pretty clever really, the gift that keeps on giving.’

The post has since been met with hundreds of mixed reactions, with many saying they thought the print was hilarious – while others said it looked ‘wrong’.

‘I would love to see the people’s faces at supermarkets when you pull out this bag for them to pack,’ one person said.

Another person said: ‘I wouldn’t mind this. Makes me laugh.’

‘No way. That’s just wrong… funny but wrong. I pity the person in sales who approved this one,’ another said.

One said: ‘Imagine getting this out at the shops.’

And another said: ‘You’d have to be humping mad to buy this bag.’

Meanwhile a person described the animal print as a ‘jungle orgy’ while some were shocked that the bag was being sold at an ‘upmarket’ department store.

La La Land’s creative director Elie Azzi said while the brand’s prints may raise a few eyebrows, the goal is to make products that are creative, unique and fun.

‘I love all the artworks we produce and I would buy them all however a lot may not be suited to my personal style,’ he said on the company’s site.

‘In the gift industry, we have to think about both our customer and the end user (the recipient of the gift).

‘In this perspective we have to always think about our customers while we choose themes and styles that would make the recipient happy.
