Lauren Goodger EXCLUSIVE: Star is released from hospital after mystery illness

Lauren Goodger has been released from hospital after being admitted with a mystery illness.

A spokesperson exclusively told MailOnline on Saturday that the reality star, 33, is ‘resting’ at home, after taking to Instagram on Boxing Day to share a snap from her hospital bed with a drip in her arm.

The representative said: ‘Lauren is out of hospital and resting. She will talk about what’s happened when she feels ready to.’

Currently it is still unclear why Lauren was taken to hospital, and the star is yet to reveal any further details about the state of her health

Her last health update came on Friday as she took to social media to share a cryptic message about suffering from stress.

After revealing she was taken to hospital with a series of alarming symptoms after hosting Christmas at her house, Lauren shared a post reading: ‘The mind and body are not separate. What affects one, affects the other.’

Lauren appeared to be alluding to the fact that her health woes were the result of mental strain as she posted the quote from an online provider.  

She stunned fans when she first revealed she was in hospital in the midst of the holiday season, yet failed to specify what was the issue.  

The previous day, Lauren appeared in good spirits and good health as she shared images from Christmas Day, which showed her having fun with her loved-ones.

However, things later went downhill when she shared a concerning message in which she claimed she ‘feels like I’m dying’, due to the ‘worst hangover.’

She wrote: ‘Never drink again… worst hangover to date… I feel like I’m dying.’

Shortly afterwards, she uploaded a snap from within an ambulance as she stated she was forced to call paramedics to her home.

Alongside the image, she penned: ‘Under a lot of stress lately, had paramedics at mine now on way to hospital.. really not good way lately… I need a break’ [sic].

She also shared a clip of her knees trembling beneath a hospital blanket, with Lauren adding that she ‘can’t stop shaking’. 

Though Lauren was clearly worried for her health, she still managed to keep her fans updated with glamorous snaps from her hospital bed.

Sporting a bright pink crop top, the reality star pouted into the camera as she posed for a selfie.

The former Celebs Go Dating favourite later revealed that medics were keeping her in hospital, as she shared a picture of herself sitting in a wheelchair. 

MailOnline have contacted representatives of Lauren for comment.  

The star’s hospital dash comes just a day after she uploaded some sexy Christmas Day snaps to Instagram.

Showcasing her eye-popping figure in a corset-style leather top and skintight leggings, she pouted and posed for the camera as she sipped on a glass of bubbly.

Captioning one snap, she wrote: ‘Merry Christmas 2019 , you filthy animals.’

While in the other, she said: ‘Nearly 5.5 thick thighs and blues eyes.’ 

Lauren’s medical woes comes just days after it emerged she was duped into promoting cyanide in a BBC sting. 

The sting saw her secretly filmed during a meeting where she was asked to promote a fake diet drink named Cyanora on her Instagram. 

In the BBC Three documentary Blindboy Undestroys the World, Lauren was asked to advertise the drink despite it not even being ready for production.

It was part of an investigation by the show into whether celebrities actually consume the products which they are paid to promote to their followers on social media.

The drink was said to contain hydrogen cyanide, a deadly chemical used in both world wars, including at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in the 1940s.

Lauren’s fellow The Only Way Is Essex star Mike Hassini, 25, and Love Island contestant Zara Holland, 24, were also filmed during the sting.

They were told among the ingredients of the new drink was hydrogen cyanide – which was used as chemical weapon by the French during the First World War.

The chemical was also used by Nazi Germany during the Second World War for disinfection and pest extermination on ships, before they used it in gas chambers.  

A representative for Lauren told MailOnline: ‘Lauren was asked to go to an audition by her old management to attend a meeting to appear in an advert for a new water.

‘There was no mention of what the water contained before the meeting. The money on the table was quite a large sum which was offered.’

While Lauren told MailOnline: ‘I was asked to read a script which I did to screen test me for the job. This script was given to me at that precise moment. No deals were signed and it was an audition.

‘As with any audition you people please and say what they want to hear. They asked me would I promote the drink without using it. In the heat of the moment I said yes and also said I hadn’t tried skinny coffee in the hope of getting the job.

‘Of course I would never promote anything that contains poison and proper checks would have been made before any promotion. I also have never said I lost two stone using skinny coffee. That is a complete lie and I’m unsure where that has come from.

‘I would never promote anything on my Instagram that I don’t feel is right for my followers and that I haven’t used. The sit down meeting after the audition was filmed undercover without my knowledge.’
