Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp accuses referee Felix Brych of ‘personal’ decisions against Sadio Mane

Jurgen Klopp accuses referee Felix Brych of ‘personal’ decisions against Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s 3-1 Champions League defeat by Real Madrid – after forward appeared to be fouled in build-up to Marco Asensio’s goal

Jurgen Klopp has slammed the referee for his officiating during Liverpool‘s wretched defeat at Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Reds have it all to do to keep their European dreams alive after falling to a 3-1 loss in the Spanish capital following a brace from Vinicius Junior and a goal from Marco Asensio.

And following the final whistle, Klopp accused referee Felix Brych of ‘personal decisions’ against his forward Sadio Mane in the opening period.

Klopp was particularly furious after Mane appeared to be hauled down by Lucas Vazquez, who was last man, before the referee waved play on moments before Asensio went up the other end to double Madrid’s advantage.

‘The situation with Sadio, I’m not sure what the ref did tonight,’ Klopp said. ‘It seemed like it was sort of personal.

‘I told him after the game, I just thought he was unfair with Sadio.’

‘He didn’t lose us the game but you need just an OK ref.’
