Liverpool’s Harry Wilson LEAVES pre-season training camp in Austria to complete £12m move to Fulham

Liverpool’s Harry Wilson LEAVES pre-season training camp in Austria to complete £12m permanent move to Fulham after the Wales international was left out of the Reds’ pre-season win over Mainz

  • Wilson has spent most of his career out on loan but is set for a permanent deal
  • The winger is expected to join Fulham after spells at Cardiff and Bournemouth
  • Wilson made only two first-team appearances for Juergen Klopp’s senior side

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has left the club’s training camp in Austria to complete a £12million move to Fulham.

The Wales international had been attracting interest from Benfica but the Cottagers jumped to the head of the queue and Craven Cottage now looks to be his new destination.

Wilson was at the club’s training camp in Austria until Saturday, but was withdrawn from the squad for Friday night’s friendly against manager Jurgen Klopp‘s former club Mainz so as not to jeopardise any transfer.

Harry Wilson, 24, has left Liverpool’s training camp to complete a £12million move to Fulham

Wilson has since been allowed to leave for London in order to complete a medical ahead of the move after having already agreed personal terms with Fulham.

The 24-year-old former academy graduate has made just two first-team appearances for the club – in the FA and League Cups – but has spent much of his time on loan at Hull, Derby, Bournemouth and Cardiff.

Wilson made three appearances for Wales at Euro 2020 but did not have the impact he would have wanted and was sent off in the last minute of their 4-0 defeat to Denmark in the last 16.

The midfielder spent the last campaign in the Championship on loan at Cardiff City, where he scored seven goals in 33, and is now set for another season in England’s second-tier.

Fulham managed only one season back in the top flight and finished 18th in the standings.

Wilson’s move to Craven Cottage will see him link up with Marco Silva, the former coach of Liverpool’s rivals Everton.

Silva was named as Scott Parker’s successor after the former midfielder left the west London club by mutual consent in June.
