Loose Women stars Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson scrap on the floor in shock play fight

Eamonn Holmes has taken a dig at This Morning’s ongoing turmoil by joking that a play fight between panelists on Loose Women was ‘worse than in here’.

The breakfast host, 60, made the cheeky joke as all-female chat show got off to a riotous start on Friday with Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson scrapping on the floor as Stacey Solomon attempted to pull them apart.

As they cut to the ITV talkshow to see what was coming up in the programme, This Morning hosts Eamonn and Ruth Langsford, 59, were left open-mouthed in shock as they witnessed the panellists wrestling each other.

However, far from Nadia, 55, and Linda, 61, having a huge falling out, the ladies were simply demonstrating a mock fight as they promoted the day’s topic: ‘Should kids have scuffles or should you break it up.’

Watching the eye-raising scenes unfold, Eamonn said: ‘Oh dear, it’s worse than in here!’

Eamonn’s wife and co-host Ruth has been involved in a high-profile rift with Phillip Schofield, 57, after he interrupted her while she was presenting a preview for the show via a video link-up.

Ruth recently made a formal complaint against him due to the ‘toxic’ backstage atmosphere the feud has created.

But keeping the on-set atmosphere light, Linda was seen pinning Nadia to the floor while the latter kicked her legs frantically.

Adding to the dramatic effect, the warring duo were yelling phrases such as ‘get off!’ and ‘you started it!’ to each other.

Attempting to break up the play fight, Stacey, 30, tried to prise Linda away from her co-star, before pulling on Nadia’s leg.

Explaining the chaotic situation, host Kaye Adams, 57, explained: ‘I’m really sorry, I apologise! We’re going to be asking should you always intervene when siblings scuffle, or let them fight it out.’

She then bellowed at the pair to ‘break it up!’

The Loose Women ladies were in remarkably good spirits following their NTA defeat on Tuesday, after they lost the award for Live Magazine Show to This Morning again.

Presenter Christine Lampard, 40, joked that she ‘will NOT be talking about the NTAs’ as she joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ahead of her show.

After her dismissal, Phillip replied: ‘We had fun though’, to which Christine said: ‘No matter what happens, we had fun.’

Meanwhile, Nadia was equally unimpressed that Loose Women missed out on the gong as she admitted to telling Stacey not to ‘smile’ when This Morning were announced as the winners.

Stacey told the audience how she was doing the classic ‘smile and clip’ and acting like she didn’t mind losing, when Nadia suddenly leaned in and barked: ‘don’t smile!’

Christine then chimed in and said Nadia leaned back after This Morning’s win and told her: ‘Stop smiling as well!’

‘We weren’t happy because we didn’t win,’ Nadia insisted.

Loose Women continues weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
