Love Island star Luke Mabbott’s secret famous past revealed: Star caught the eye of Vicky Pattison on Geordie Shore as she branded hunk ‘Justin Bieber’s younger brother’

He is the hunky Love Island bombshell who set jaws dropping when he arrived in the villa one week ago.

But Luke Mabbott already has a secret reality TV past as it was revealed he once appeared on Geordie Shore, and caught the eye of Vicky Pattison.

The heating engineer, 24, popped up on a episode of the hit MTV reality show during its eighth season in 2014 – where the then 19-year-old was branded a ‘Justin Bieber lookalike’ by Vicky.

A tweet from Geordie Shore’s official Twitter account in 2014 featured a quote from Vicky reading ‘The first person I see happens to be Justin Bieber’s younger brother!’ to which the account captioned: ‘It happens to be the best of us.’

In an interview ahead of entering the villa, Luke revealed he had often been mistaken for Sorry hitmaker Justin, 25.

He said: ‘I’ve walked into clubs and been given VIP table service and free drinks because the Bouncer has thought I’m him!’

The emerging reality star also used to play guitar at gigs with Dale Ali – who auditioned for The X Factor back in 2012.

On Sunday night’s instalment of Love Island, Luke and Jess Gale were seen sharing their first smooch following a dramatic recoupling episode.

After Jess chose new boy Luke M – who is dubbed Luke M in the villa – the pair decided to take a private moment to celebrate.

Sparks first flew between Jess and Luke when they were whisked away for a date after the public voted for the bubbly blonde to be Luke’s match when he first arrived in the villa alongside Luke Trotman, 22.

The two got on famously, with Jess telling her date: ‘I wouldn’t say I’m a relationship type of girl I’m, not just in it for the sake of it, I like to believe everything happens for a reason.’

To which Luke quipped: ‘Could I be the reason?’

Tuesday night’s episode proved to be one of the most dramatic yet, after Connor Durman was dumped from the villa at the hands of his fellow islanders.

He and Sophie Piper were voted the least favourite couple by the public, which led to the announcement that islanders would be left with the tough decision of selecting just one person out of that couple to go home.

Thanks to Luke’s late arrival and very recent coupling on the show, he was exempt from the vote.

Love Island continues on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV2.
