Married At First Sight’s controversial bridesmaid Ashlee has revealed what really happened while filming friend Tash Herz’s wedding to Amanda Micallef.
The Adelaide-based poet, who has been slammed by viewers for accusing Amanda of being fake, said they spent eight hours waiting around on set while drinking.
In an Instagram comment after the episode aired, she also took another swipe at newlywed Amanda, writing: ‘First impressions are never wrong’.

Discussing the day as a whole, Ashlee, who appeared as Tash’s bridesmaid alongside friend Rachel, explained on Instagram that there was a lot of waiting around.
Ashlee wrote: ‘You looked so beautiful [Tash] that you took my breath away. But luckily I had about 8 hours to catch it because we sat around for so long eating sandwiches and waiting to film.
‘I wish we had more photos of Rachel and I laying around on chairs in our bridesmaid dresses sun baking and buzzed on tequila.’

Addressing Tash directly, and her accusation that bride Amanda was being ‘fake’ at their wedding, Ashlee concluded: ‘I’ll defend you always.’
During Tuesday’s episode, Ashlee and Rachel were slammed by viewers for confronting Amanda, and saying that they already disliked her.
The women were angry that Amanda had ‘snubbed’ them at the reception by spending more time with Tash’s family.

‘[Amanda] is rehearsed and super careful. I think we need to explore what she said in her vows and see if she is hiding anything,’ Ashlee said before the ambush.
‘She referred to past mistakes [in her vows], I’m definitely going to grill her on what she means by that.’
The two women then approached Amanda and asked her to step outside for a chat.

They accused her of deliberately snubbing them all day.
Amanda responded: ‘I’m a really family person, so it was important I made a good impression on [Tash’s] parents. I hope you can respect that? I am an extremely loyal person and I am quite grounded.’
Ashlee snapped back: ‘Tash is our family. She’s our friend and we’ve known her for so many years. We just want to make sure she is in good hands.
‘You sound so prepared. In your vows, you said you’ve made big mistakes. Did you go to jail for fraud? What happened? That’s where my mind goes.’

Amanda calmly explained that when she was approached to appear on MAFS, she was in the process of reconnecting with an ex-girlfriend.
‘I was at a crossroads of making it work with her, or choosing the experiment. I thought if I went back to [my ex], I’d go back to what I knew. I wouldn’t have been happy going back to that relationship long-term,’ she explained.
‘Or if I did this [show] I could meet an equal and be happy. Know from the bottom of my heart, I will look after [Tash]. If someone tries to hurt her, they better run.’
