Manchester United have pulled the plug on negotiations with West Ham over a deal for Jesse Lingard.

Talks were at an advanced stage with United understood to be asking a £1.5m loan fee plus Lingard’s £80,000 a week wages for the rest of the season.

However, discussions are understood to have become strained and United took the step of notifying other clubs that Lingard was still available.
