Margot Robbie has been cast opposite Christian Bale in David O. Russell’s next dramatic feature… as Birds Of Prey falls short at the box office

She’s been nominated for two Oscars, including a Best Supporting Actress nod at this past Sunday’s awards, and she’s already one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood.

And Margot Robbie is adding yet another role to her list of upcoming projects, a dramatic feature from Silver Linings Playbook auteur David O. Russell.

The film, which is yet to be titled, will also feature Oscar winner Christian Bale, who most recently appeared in the Academy Award-winning feature Ford v Ferrari.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Russell is set to write and direct the new film from an original idea, but plot details are being kept under wraps.

Russell, who has been nominated for five Oscars between Playbook in 2012, 2013’s American Hustle and The Fighter from 2010, last helmed the Jennifer Lawrence feature Joy, in 2015.

According to both Russell’s and Bale’s IMDb pages, they are already set to team on a project titled Amsterdam, but it is not yet confirmed whether Robbie, 29, is joining them on that project or a different one.

David famously directed Christian in his Oscar-winning role in the Fighter, which also earned supporting actress Melissa Leo a golden statuette in 2011.

Margot was up for a best supporting actress Oscar this past Sunday for her role in Bombshell, in which she played a fictional composite character in a film otherwise based on the true account of the sexual harassment charges that led to Fox chief Roger Ailes’s dismissal from the company.

Previously, the Australian-born actress received a nomination in the lead acting category for her spirited portrayal of disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding in the 2017 film I, Tonya.
