The new season of Married At First Sight is in full swing, with a new batch of brides and grooms tying the knot in ceremonies across Australia.
But one groom reportedly wanted his wedding to be so ‘elaborate’ that he paid for it with his own money, because Channel Nine’s budget just wouldn’t cut it.
Former contestant Martha Kalifatidis told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday that Ivan Sarakula, 30, is the groom in question.

Ivan’s wedding to Aleksandra Markovic will air on Sunday night.
‘Apparently, Ivan actually got money out of his own pocket to pay for part of his wedding because he wanted it to be so elaborate, and the show give you a budget,’ Martha claimed.
‘He paid for it himself, as he wanted it to be… that’s why I love him… I love Ivan and Alex. I want to go home with them, and stay with them.’

The episode will also see the long-awaited wedding of ‘lonely bride’ Connie Crayden.
The 27-year-old has been heavily featured in promos for the show since January, and on Sunday fans will finally see her tie the knot with Jonethen Musulin.
