Starstruck MasterChef’s Reece Hignell reveals how pregnant Katy Perry behaved behind-the-scenes of the show and the one thing that ‘shocked’ her about the cooking competition
MasterChef contestant Reece Hignell was left completely starstruck when Katy Perry walked into the kitchen as a guest judge on the cooking show.
And on Friday, the cook revealed how the pregnant pop star behaved behind-the-scenes.
Reece told News.com.au that after filming she stayed back to do publicity photos, and was left thoroughly impressed with the contestants’ culinary skills during a brief chat to them about the competition so far.

‘She was in disbelief that we have to walk in every day and cook without a recipe,’ he said.
‘She was shocked that we had to come up with all of our ideas on the spot, so that was really cool that she gave us a bit of respect,’ he added.
Reece was speechless when he saw the Hot n Cold singer walk into the kitchen as a guest judge.

He was distracted by the singer throughout the immunity challenge, saying: ‘She spent the whole time walking around trolling us, but it was the most endearing thing.’
Fans also rejoiced about the Teenage Dream hitmaker’s appearance on the show, including one who said: ‘She was a breath of fresh air’.
‘Good on her. She could of walked in and snubbed everyone, but can in and had a great time,’ another added.

According to OzTam ratings reported by TV Tonight, 942,000 viewers across the five city metro tuned in to watch Katy Perry join the MasterChef judges.
