MasterChef SPOILER: Brendan Pang revealed as finalist in leak

MasterChef SPOILER: Fan favourite revealed as a finalist in video chat leak… despite there still being 20 contestants on the show

There are currently 20 contestants still battling it out on MasterChef Australia.

And in an unfortunate leak, Brendan Pang has now been confirmed as a finalist on the current season, with production in the final stages in Melbourne.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a video chat with a friend back home in Perth while still away filming on Sunday, who accidentally let the spoiler slip on Instagram.

Brendan video messaged his friend Jess Calder from his Melbourne apartment hotel room, where he has been living since January while away from home filming.

His friend later shared a screenshot of their video chat to her Instagram account.

Although neither of them directly said he was a finalist on the show, the fact he is still away from home filming, as the production comes to an end, confirms this.

It is believed there are around six contestants still in Melbourne filming the final episodes, with all of the eliminated stars self-isolating back at their homes.

Earlier this week, Daily Mail Australia revealed that many contestants had all but confirmed they don’t make the finals in their own Instagram blunders.

Contestants Hayden Quinn, Simon Toohey, Dani Venn, Rose Adam, Jess Liemantara and Ben Ungermann have been posting endless selfies to social media from their homes across Australia lately, despite the program still filming in Melbourne.

Their posts prove they’re no longer in the competition, and their exits will air soon.

Similarly, eliminated stars Harry Foster, Lynton Tapp, Courtney Roulston and Ben Milbourne were all posting pictures from their homes, before their exits aired.

Filming started in January, months before it started airing on April 13 on Channel 10.

It’s expected to wrap soon, as the finalists follow COVID-19 precautions on set.

Spoiler: Hayden was pictured shopping for home supplies at Bunnings in Balgowlah, Sydney on April 17. He has since shared selfies and almost daily updates from his Manly apartment, almost 1,000km from where the show is still being filmed in Melbourne
