The McDonald’s loyalty scheme used to see customers having to buy six hot drinks in order to get a seventh for free.

But with the new trick, customers will have to download the free McDonald’s app for their smartphone.

They should buy a cup as normal using the app, but also save the disposable cup in order to keep the sticker.

Eventually, customers will end up with five virtual stickers on the app, giving them a a sixth cup of coffee for free.
