Two former NRL teammates have allegedly been involved in a fight after an apparent love triangle involving the two men was revealed.
Michael Lichaa, 27, allegedly came to blows with old Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs teammate Adam Elliott in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The two footy stars, their partners and children had been at a home in Connells Point in Sydney’s south, when an argument erupted about 4.50am.
Neighbours heard shouting and called police, who arrived at the home to find Lichaa suffering severe cuts to his arm.
It is believed he may have punched a glass window during the incident.
Lichaa – who played 113 NRL games before being released by the Bulldogs last year – has been charged with assaulting a woman known to him, destroying and damaging property, and stalking and intimidating.
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs put out a statement on Monday confirming that Elliott, one of their star forwards, had been involving in an incident on the weekend.

‘The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have overnight been made aware of an alleged incident involving Adam Elliott,’ the statement read.
‘The club has reported the matter to the NRL Integrity Unit and is currently working with them.
‘The club is not in a position to comment further at this stage.’
There is no suggestion Elliott is being investigated by NSW Police, or that he will be punished by the NRL.
Lichaa was taken to St George Hospital for treatment, then transported under police guard to the Sydney Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
After being released from hospital, he was taken to Kogarah Police Station and charged.
Lichaa is alleged to have assaulted the woman, who is known to him, severely injuring his arm in the process
Police were called to the Connells Point Road home and arrested Lichaa, who was dropped by new Canterbury coach Dean Pay in 2018
NSW Police said he was granted conditional bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday,
The Daily Telegraph reports police are investigating whether a misunderstanding sparked the alleged incident.
Lichaa played 113 games for the Sharks and then the Bulldogs as well as representing Lebanon in five Test matches.
After being released by the Bulldogs, he played the 2020 season with NSWRL side, Cronulla-Caringbah.
