Dundas showed his gratitude by taking to Instagram on Thursday to share a photo of Michelle wearing his design at the event.

‘So excited seeing Michelle Obama in DUNDAS tonight,’ he wrote. ‘Thank you for choosing Oslo, my hometown to wear our custom emerald panther tuxedo suit and thank you for choosing DUNDAS!! Made my day. Hey made my week!!’

The book tour stop marks the first time she has been in Oslo since her husband, former President Barack Obama, received the Nobel Peace Price in 2009.

The fashion icon has been strategic about her clothing choices while in Europe, opting to wear local designers to pay homage to every citing she is in.

Each of the power suits she wore during stops in Copenhagen and Stockholm was adorned with patterns of crystals.

Michelle started the week wearing pastels, but she opted for a jewel tone green for her appearance in Oslo on Thursday.

‘Event two,’ Michelle added.

‘We are going to have fun, talk about all the gossip with her and Barack,’ the moderator joked, getting a laugh out the author. ‘I’m just kidding. There’s no gossip.’

According to local press, Michelle discussed xenophobia and society becoming more divided. She recalled growing up in the South Side of Chicago and used old class photos to show how half the class disappeared due to ‘white flight.’

‘Put yourself in someone else’s place and don’t be afraid of your neighbor,’ she said.

The night before, Michelle took the stage at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm. As a nod to the country’s capital, she donned an elegant bespoke suit by Acne Studios, a Swedish fashion brand based in Stockholm.

The collar of her cropped blazer was embellished with crystals, and she also wore a gemstone encrusted pin that added an extra sparkle.

On Tuesday, Michelle was promoting her book in Copenhagen. She paid homage to the capital by wearing a $2,310 light pink suit by local Danish designer Stine Goya to visit the Royal Arena.

Celebrity chef and talk show host Rachael Ray served as the moderator at the event, which was first of the author’s six European stops on her book tour.

Michelle released her book in November 2018 and it shot to the top of bestseller lists immediately, selling 725,000 copies in the U.S. and Canada in its first day.

The former first lady’s nationwide book tour included interviews with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The tour was such a success it started out with just 10 days and an additional 21 were added. Tickets started at $29.95 and spiked into the thousands for special VIP access.

The final leg of Michelle’s book tour started on March 13 in St. Paul, Minnesota, with an event moderated by radio journalist Michele Norris. While in Europe this week, she is scheduled to speak in London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

Then she’ll return stateside and wrap up the tour in Nashville on May 12, in a talk moderated by late night TV show host Stephen Colbert.

Last month it was reported that Becoming is on track to become the best-selling memoir of all time, and the sales continue to soar.

According to her publisher Penguin Random House the book has sold more than 10 million copies — including hardcover, audiobooks, and e-books — since its release and could take the record as the best selling memoir in history.

‘I’m not aware, in my personal experience with Penguin Random House, that we ever sold 10 million units of a memoir,’ Markus Dohle, Penguin Random House’s chief executive, said to the Wall Street Journal.

Becoming has already shattered a number of records, selling 2 million copies in North America within 15 days of its release, making it the fastest-selling book of 2018. It was also named the best-selling hardcover book of the year.

The book is the first in a two-book deal that Michelle and husband former president Barack Obama made with Penguin Random House in 2017 for a reported $60 million.
