Two Australian midwives have dished the dirt on some of the worst behaviour they have seen from dads in the birthing suite – including bailing on their partners to meet friends at the pub and aimlessly scrolling through their phones.

The very awkward moments were shared by Midwife Tylah on her TikTok account by the same name.

In the clip, the popular midwife shared the screen with a fellow midwife friend who shared some of her own stories.

The pair were careful to keep the dads’ identities concealed in their short clip whilst still trashing behaviour like men asking when their partner’s stretch marks will fade.

The midwives said they hate when men scroll aimlessly through their phones while their partners are breathing through painful contractions.

And, unsurprisingly leaving a labouring wife to ‘go to the pub with their mates’ was also not a popular move.

Neither was ‘missing the birth to validate the parking ticket,’ the women said.

Another man once asked if his partner’s vagina would ever go back to normal, as the midwife was adding sutures.

And some ‘poo in the hospital suite toilet with the door open’ as their partners and midwives work metres away.

Some dads even try to put hats on their babies when the head is crowning – which the midwives also found frustrating.

The women clarified the things they revealed in the video were things they had seen and heard with their own eyes and ears.

Thousands of people who saw the clip were in disbelief.

‘Is this true? I feel so lucky now after having four babies,’ one woman said in shock.

‘These are just so sad, those poor mothers,’ another woman said.

‘How can these men have so little empathy, this makes me want to stay single,’ said another woman.

But others had similar stories to tell, despite being shocked.

‘Especially hanging at the pub during the labour, two guys from work did that and left their wives to labour on their own,’ one man said.

‘One woman I know said her husband shushed her during labour. In that moment she knew it was over,’ one woman revealed.

Another said her partner complained after 27 hours that he was tired while one woman revealed her husband was talking to his mistress the whole time.

Not everyone agreed the behaviour was bad.

‘I kind of like the hat one, I would have laughed the baby out,’ one woman said.

Others called the midwives judgmental and said the mothers could have approved of what their husbands were doing.

And some mums shared their positive experiences.

‘Mine went to the toilet and came back with an iced coffee and chicken toastie for me because he knows they are my comfort foods,’ one woman said.
