Migrants pouring across the Rio Grande as Kamala Harris STILL hasn’t visited the border

Footage taken Monday shows migrants continuing to come into the United States at the Rio Grande in Texas amid an ongoing crisis at the southern border with Mexico.

Video taken by Fox News shows the group, including young children and women, making their way into Del Rio during a low tide.

The migrants filmed Monday told Fox they arrived from Venezuela, with many saying they already have family in America.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris – named Joe Biden‘s border czar – still hasn’t visited the border or held a news conference on the issue 47 days after being handed the role.

Jackson County Sheriff Andy Louderback said the response has not been good enough, calling the Democrat’s handling of the crisis a ‘complete embarrassment’.

Harris will be making an official visit to Mexico and Guatemala in June. But many Republicans argue Harris has already failed by not visiting the border.

The group filmed Monday are said to have been smuggled early morning, bringing with them camping equipment for their arrival in the US.

Louderback told Fox News: ‘It’s incomprehensible that a national security border, our border with another foreign country is in the shape that it is.

‘It’s so preventable. Maybe if we could get the president or the vice president down there then maybe they can see for themselves and they will have to admit what they have caused down there. What they have caused here in Texas.’

Louderback described how the Texas National Guard are forced to clean up the mess left behind by migrants at the border.

Harris’ defenders point out that her brief is to look for deeper solutions in the Central American countries where most of the migrants start from – the ‘Northern Triangle’ of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.

She has not publicly disclosed any border visits since being named Biden’s czar on the issue.

The VP and Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador pledged Friday to cooperate on resolving the roots of the long-running and politically sensitive issue of illegal migration into the US.

Harris, speaking with Lopez Obrador in a virtual meeting, said they should work together on helping El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras improve conditions and persuade many migrants to stay home.

‘It is in our countries’ mutual interest to provide immediate relief to the Northern Triangle and to address the root causes of migration,’ Harris said.

‘Most people don’t want to leave home and when they do it is often because they are fleeing some harm or they are forced to leave because there are no opportunity.’

Harris said that it was in the ‘mutual interest’ of the United States and Mexico to address the ‘root causes’ of mass emigration from the three Northern Triangle nations.

‘Our approach is to work with international institutions, to work with nations worldwide, the private sector and community organizations… and build a sense of hope for the people of the Northern Triangle,’ she said.

Lopez Obrador referred to the history of US-Mexican tensions over migration and said ‘we need to understand one another and avoid fighting.’

‘We are in agreement when it comes to the policies that you are undertaking when it comes to migration and we will help. That is what I can say as of now. You can count on us.’

President Joe Biden tapped Harris in March to coordinate an overall response to the surge in undocumented migrants and asylum seekers at overwhelmed US border facilities.
