  • Police were called to break up violence at the Pointing Dog, near Manchester

This is the moment a ticketed ‘brunch’ event descends into a ‘Wild West’ brawl as punches are thrown and glasses are smashed in a pub beer garden.

Police were called to the Pointing Dog in Cheadle Hulme, near Manchester, on Saturday evening after the gathering turned violent.

Footage shows a number of men punching, kicking and pushing each other with some stood on tables as others tried to calm the situation.

Officers arrested two men aged 28 and 29 suspicion of affray. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries. No injuries have been reported.

Dusk 7, who organised the event, admitted in a social media statement that they ‘got some things wrong’ and that ‘lessons have and will be learned’ but it is not clear what they are referring to.

Inspector Martin Baker from GMP’s Stockport division said: ‘I understand the local community are quite rightly concerned to see this behaviour, but I’d like to reassure you that we are following a number of lines of enquiry and working closely with the local authority and the premises to avoid future occurrences.

‘Behaviour of this nature is not welcome in our community, and we are committed to working with our partners to tackle anti-social behaviour and violent disorder.

‘This investigation is very much ongoing, and I’d like to encourage anyone who has information to come forward.

‘We’re particularly keen to speak to people who may have attended the event and witnessed the disorder. No matter how small the information may seem, it could prove vital to our investigation.

‘If you have any information on the individuals shown in the footage, or any CCTV, mobile, or dashcam footage of the incident, I ask that you please share this with the detectives leading the investigation. ‘

The Dusk 7 statement said: ‘I’ll start by thanking each person who has supported Dusk 7 over the last year. It’s thanks to you all that we have built something so successful and for that I am so grateful.

‘Having said that I do recognise that we may have become too big too soon and yesterday has shown me that clearly. I will be the first to take responsibility.

‘Pointing Dog as a venue choice was unquestionable after the success of our debut event last year. I am however aware of the service issues which were out of my control.

‘A hell of a lot of time and effort goes into these events, but on this occasion we accept that we got some things wrong so please accept my apologies.

‘We pride ourselves on providing good music in a safe environment, we cut no corners on the production side of things and always try to put your enjoyment as a priority.

‘This is all about creating the best party we can. Each and every event we have held previously has lived up to this ethos and we ask that you please do not judge us on the actions of a minority.

‘We will be taking time out the next few days to reset and re-evaluate and figure how to move forward to come back stronger. Lessons have and will be learned. To all the core good dusk followers I ask you to keep the faith, we will put this right.’

A spokesperson declined to comment further when approached by MailOnline.
