After 23 years of playing the lottery using the same numbers a mother has finally become a solo division one winner and taken home $1million.
The Wollongong mum was the only winner in draw number 4070, meaning she claimed all of the $1million prize to herself on Monday night.
She said it was a sleepless night after she received the news about her newfound fortune.
‘I checked my entry online last night. I couldn’t sleep after that. I think I was a little bit shocked,’ she told The Lott.
Despite using the same numbers for the last 23 years the mother said she had no plans to change her winning numbers
She has been using the same set of numbers for the last 23 years and said she had no plans of changing her combination.
‘I’ve still got the original ticket that I first marked all those years ago,’ she said.
‘I was persistent in using the same numbers all this time and I’m going to keep playing them going forward.’
She said she planned to share the money with her family while also making some improvements to her house.
‘I’m going to pay off the house and then make a few improvements around the place,’ she said.
‘And I will be able to share some with my children.’
‘It will be a huge help.’
Despite her modest plans she struggled to contain her emotions.
‘It feels so strange.’
‘I’m so happy. I’m trying to be cool about it but it’s very hard!’
The winner numbers from draw 4070 were: 5, 1, 29, 44, 12 and 18 and the supplementary numbers were 17 and 39.
