New South Wales home lit up in Christmas lights receives heartwarming letter from Bunnings

A mother-of-two has shared a heartwarming letter she received from Bunnings after setting up a Christmas lights display.

Isabel bought the fairy lights from the hardware store before adorning her New South Wales home in time for Christmas.

She shared a photo online of the result showing a house lit up in blue and green lights with two reindeer grazing on the grass on the front lawn.

‘We have a 6.5 and 3.5 year old so Christmas is big this year – we put lights out every year but this year I went to a little more effort,’ Isabel said.

‘Having Christmas lights out and driving around looking at everyone else’s [lights] brings the kids and I so much joy.’

Though the display also caught the attention of Bunnings who sent her a letter in the mail with a very surprising early Christmas present. 

‘Hey neighbour,’ the note read. ‘Thank you for brightening our area with your amazing Christmas lights.

‘Your display has brought great joy to many of our team members so we would like to say thank you and present you with a voucher.

‘We all hope you have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.’

An over-the-moon Isabel said she was completely taken aback by the kind gesture.

‘I never expected anything in return so it’s just so lovely to get this.’ 

Other Bunnings enthusiasts jumped onto the post to comment on how impressed they were with the gift.

‘What an awesome gesture!’ one person wrote. ‘And you have done an amazing job! Also internally crying because we all know $10 at Bunnings is never enough.’

Another person added: ‘Your section looks great and well done Bunnings’.
