Noah Centineo feels comfortable drinking again after one year of sobriety as he details a ‘really dark’ time in his life

He took Netflix by storm in the hit young adult romcom To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and is poised to become America’s next big heartthrob.

Actor Noah Centineo, who recently made headlines in a digital cover story for Men’s Harper’s Bazaar when he said he was sober, has clarified his approach to substance use on this week’s episode of the Variety and iHeart podcast The Big Ticket.

The 23-year-old actor, who successfully completed a totally sober year before he turned 21, specified that he has since gone back to drinking — and drinking only.

‘I left a lot in the past,’ The Perfect Date actor explained, referencing drug use. ‘There’s a lot that I don’t do anymore. … But when I have to work, I cut out everything.’

Previously, the Miami, Florida-born hunk said he was much more likely to try various things.

‘There wasn’t really much I wouldn’t do. I never, ever injected anything, which is good. I smoked a lot of things,’ Noah told Bazaar.com for the February 11th feature.

‘I was really upset, man. It was a really dark time in my life.’

The fact that the Fosters star takes a serious approach to work has proven fruitful for him, since the actor has a plethora of projects in the works.

After the sequel To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You hit Netflix last week, production is underway on a third installment in the series, also based on the Jenny Han novel.

Regarding potential further work on that series, Centineo enthusiastically said in the podcast that ‘if Jenny Han writes a fourth book, sign me up!’

Noah is also wrapping up work on The Diary, a WWII drama written and directed by none other than Jackie Chan.

And as for his buzzy starring role as He-Man in the purported 2021 mega-blockbuster Masters of the Universe, shooting has unfortunately been postponed and Sony recently removed the Mattel film, based on the bestselling 1980’s toys, from its release schedule.

All Centineo was able to say about whether Masters is still happening was, ‘We’ll see. We’ll see about that.’

But, he said, he absolutely still wants to play a superhero. ‘I’d put on a leotard! Come on, I’ll do it. Of course, I would do it.’
