Now Christina Hendricks is a Glasgow girl! Mad Men star filmed in city for new Apple TV+ show The Buccaneers

She has professed a love for Scotland before, sharing photos of her travels north of the Border.

Now Christina Hendricks is back promoting the country with the release of her new show The Buccaneers.

The period drama follows five young American girls who launch themselves onto the London debutante season of the 1870s.

The first episodes debuted on streaming giant Apple TV+ earlier this month.

Although it is set across New York, London and Cornwall, the series was filmed in Scotland and Madrid.

Each episode focuses on a different fictional property – most of which are a composite of stately homes and castles in Scotland.

The Scottish coast stands in for Cornwall while Glasgow doubles up as both New York and London. Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, Hopetoun House, near South Queensferry, and Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire all feature in the period drama.

Ms Hendricks is best known for her role as an advertising agency office manager on American hit TV show Mad Men.

She spent two weeks sightseeing in Scotland before she started filming The Buccaneers last year – and her pet cockapoo Triscuit was even brought along for the ride.

In January Ms Hendricks shared photos of her time in Edinburgh – including a trip to Portobello beach and a whisky tour at Johnnie Walker Princes Street.

She stars as Mrs St George in The Buccaneers, the mother of two of the main characters in the series.
