Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted ‘games caught up’ with his Manchester United side after they were dumped out of the FA Cup quarter-finals by Leicester.
Star man Bruno Fernandes, in-form left-back Luke Shaw and first-choice striker Edinson Cavani were rested from the start as a double from Kelechi Iheanacho and a Youri Tielemans goal saw the Foxes home.
Mason Greenwood had made it 1-1 but United struggled to get going even after Fernandes, Shaw, Cavani and McTominay came off the bench in a quadruple change on 64 minutes.

Despite defeat, the Norwegian insisted he would pick the same team again if he had the chance.
He said after the match: ‘We didn’t have the spark. The games caught up with us, the travels. Thursday night in Milan took a lot out of us physically. The changes were necessary.
‘I don’t think I would’ve done anything different. What goes on behind scenes isn’t always known.
But boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted he would not do things differently if he had the chance
‘We’ve got the Europa League and Premier League to concentrate on – yes we would’ve liked to go to Wembley but now all the focus is on the games we do have.
‘It won’t be easy but we want to keep going and get as far as possible in the Europa as well.’
The Red Devils played a strong team against AC Milan on Thursday, winning 1-0 in their Europa League second leg tie to progress to the quarter-finals.
After the international break Solskjaer’s side play five matches in 14 days in a jam-packed schedule of domestic and European football.
