‘Who cares, right?’ One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton, 37, calls her grey roots the ‘silver lining’ of lockdown as she praises frontline workers
One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton is embracing her grey roots.
Unable to visit a salon during COVID-19 pandemic, the 37-year-old actress recently posted an inspiring message on Instagram about keeping perspective during these testing times.
“The “silver lining” is literally growing out of my skull,” the actress captioned a photo of her showing off her roots. “For all of our frontline and essential workers who are too busy to fuss with things like hair color, I grow mine out in solidarity with you.”

She added, “When I see it, I’m reminded of all you’re doing to keep us safe. I’m reminded that you deserve to be taken care of.”
“I’m reminded that any spare time I shouldn’t be spent on vanity, but rather on helping our heroes. I can make 5 masks in the time it would take me to dye my hair.”
Burton has been active in trying to help in anyway she can since the world was hit hard by the pandemic.

The actress previously revealed that she has been making masks for frontline workers.
“Fifty new panels cut. I try very hard not to ask people to do things I am not to do myself. I am asking you to sew,” she told her followers on Instagram.

She also gained wider recognition with leading roles in the films Our Very Own, Solstice, and The List.
