Otto Wallin wants a shot to avenge his defeat against Tyson Fury after causing the Brit a huge scare and leaving him requiring 47 stitches in their first fight.

The Swedish heavyweight was expected to be nothing more than a loosener for Fury in preparation for his rematch with Deontay Wilder back in 2019.

But Wallin proved to be a gritty challenger and left Fury’s face a bloody mess after the Brit suffered an horrific gash above his eye during his unanimous points win.

Fury had to dig deep to claim victory and needed 47 stitches to sew up his damaged eye after the draining 12-round fight.

The self-styled Gypsy King has since gone on to win the WBC world title after demolishing Wilder in seven rounds, but Wallin, who is pencilled in for an acid test against Dominic Breazeale next weekend, wants another crack at Fury and believes he can defeat him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wallin said: ‘My dream is to fight and win the world title so for right now I just have to keep fighting and improving so when I get the shot I’ll be ready to grab it with both hands.

‘The Tyson Fury rematch is not my top priority but I truly hope I get another shot at him.

‘I just have to keep fighting and winning and show that I’m worthy of a rematch and when the time comes I’m ready to go in and beat him.’

But the 30-year-old will have to join the queue with Fury set to face Anthony Joshua later this year in two blockbuster heavyweight unification clashes.

Wallin is in no doubts as to who he thinks will triumph when the Brits finally meet.

He added: ‘They are the two best heavyweights in the world right now and we need that fight.

‘I’ve been watching AJ’s fight with Breazeale lately and AJ has got a great style and he’s got all the tools to beat Fury but I’m not sure how much AJ trusts himself.

‘I think Fury has a strong mind and good confidence and sometimes that’s more important than anything. That’s why I believe Fury would win.’
