Ozark season three trailer finds the Byrde family going ‘all in’ on their criminal enterprises

The wait is almost over for rabid fans of Ozark!

Netflix dropped the first full trailer for season three of the hit crime drama series on Thursday and it’s chalk full of action-packed, high drama, that threatens the Byrde family and their criminal enterprises.

And from the looks of the teaser, and its marketing slogan — ‘they are all in’ —  this go-around could be an even wilder and violent ride for Marty and Wendy Byrde (played by Jason Bateman and Laura Linney) and associate Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner).

Back for more! The first full trailer for season three of Ozark showcases stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as they try to protect their family and criminal enterprises

Straight off the top: there appears to be some division playing out between Marty Byrde and Wendy.

‘We moved here to start over and it’s been hard,’ Linney’s character narrates along to clips of people enjoying the outdoors life in the Ozarks.

That idyllic life quickly turns more sinister when the couple seemingly come face-to-face after getting out of their respective cars surrounded by dense trees.

‘Sometimes if don’t move forward,’ Wendy says before raising a gun, ‘you die.’

The new season picks up six months later, the casino is up and running, but yet the Byrdes are fighting for control of the family’s destiny and business with the cartel.

Marty preaches keeping the status quo with lines like: ‘If we just kept our heads down Wendy.’

Taking a more proactive approach to threats, Wendy shoots back,’ There’s nothing we can do about that now. We’re committed.’

Images of casino earnings, violence and torture then flash across the screen in a flurry of clips, implying that chaos is always nearby.

Aided by an alliance with Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro (Felix Solis), Wendy plots for expansion. But when her brother Ben comes into town, everyone’s lives are thrown into flux.

‘We have made promises to our shareholders about this casino, and I don’t think we want to annoy out shareholder,’ Wendy explains to her husband in a reference to the cartel.

Ruth can be seen in a couple of scenes helping with the day-to-day operations of the casino, including images of her dragging a couple of large duffel-bags full of money.

‘So your moving money in the new casino and you’re asking me to not tell your wife,’ Ruth asks Marty, who readily confirms the move.

‘I’m not you’re f***ing marriage counselor,’ she responds in true Ruth attitude, that helped Garner become the breakout star for which won a Primetime Emmy For Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for season two.

The trailer winds down with plenty of high-octane images of threats and violence.

‘You lied to your wife. You lied to me. And you lied to yourself,’ Omar says to Marty who’s apparently being held captive.

It then ends with the line: ‘What do you want?’ along with a shot of Marty walking towards his family home.
