‘When you mistakenly think your work colleagues like you’: Piers Morgan is far from happy as he’s gifted an insulting ‘w****r’ mug from GMB pals

He’s as synonymous for his outspoken opinions and Twitter feuds as he is for his illustrious broadcasting and journalism career.

But it appears Piers Morgan‘s Good Morning Britain work colleagues may not be fans of his forthright views as they gifted him a rather insulting mug on Thursday.

Taking to Instagram, GMB host Piers, 55, shared a snap of himself holding up the mug which spelled out ‘W****r’, as he penned: ‘When you mistakenly think your work colleagues like you.’

Oh dear! Piers Morgan didn’t seem impressed as his Good Morning Britain work colleagues gifted him a rather insulting mug on Thursday

Piers pulled a grumpy expression as he showed off his gift, after outlining his disappointment at realising that he may not rate as highly as he thought he did in the eyes of his colleagues.

The mug in question featured the words ‘Wonderful, Awesome, Nice, Kind, Easygoing, Remarkable’, but unfortunately for Piers, they were an acronym of the word ‘W****r’.

The TV presenter did not specifically name which co-stars gave him the present.

The light-hearted post was flooded with several comments from fans, many of whom found the gift hilarious.

Piers’ unfortunate drinkware comes a day after he mocked Tom Cruise’s reported rant towards crew on the Mission Impossible set.

The broadcaster erupted at his Good Morning Britain crew on Wednesday by threatening to sack them, pretending to be caught off-guard as the show returned from an ad break.

Following reports that Tom had launched into a furious rant at workers on the London set after noticing they weren’t adhering to COVID-19 safety rules, Piers decided to give the GMB crew a dressing down of their own.

Poking fun at the outburst, Piers shouted: ‘Don’t ever do that again! I’m going to fire you! All right?’

Unfazed by his behaviour, co-host Susanna Reid joked: ‘The language he used in the break was far worse but don’t worry, my phone was recording.’

Calming himself, Piers pretended to have been caught unawares as the show had just returned from an ad break.

He said: ‘Sorry, that was so awkward. I was just giving the troops a bit of a morale booster. Right guys? We’re all friends? All good?’

Turning towards the GMB crew, he added: ‘I reckon one of his lot would chin me, Darren definitely would. He wouldn’t even hesitate.’

Last month, Piers defiantly claimed that he ‘doesn’t care’ what people think of him, joking that he sees their differing opinions as ‘a good chance to wage a new feud’.

Speaking tovGQ Magazine after winning the Men Of The Year award for Personality Of The Year, the TV star opened up on not being bothered on how he’s perceived.

He said on the public opinion of him: ‘I don’t really care what people say about me. Honestly. I know people think I must do, but I really don’t. I just see it as a good chance to wage a new feud.’
