Police investigate fight involving students from two different schools in Rawang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a fight involving two secondary school students in Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang, near here yesterday afternoon.

Gombak District acting Police Chief Supt Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said they received a report at 10.13 pm last night from a 14-year-old student claiming that he and his friend were assaulted by a group of students from another school.

He said the 14-year-old teenager claimed that he and his friend were in the Medan Puteri area, Bandar Tasik Rawang, at 2.10 pm before being assaulted and injured by a group of male students aged 15 and 16.

“As a result of the incident, the teenager received treatment at the Selayang Hospital while his friend received treatment at the KPJ Hospital here,“ he said in a statement today.

According to Noor Ariffin, initial investigations revealed that the fight involved students from two separate schools in the area and stemmed from a misunderstanding, besides they know each other.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code, and police are looking for the group of students involved.
