Popeyes spoofs Beyoncé’s Ivy Park collection

Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated Adidas x Ivy Park collection is already sold out, but fans have another opportunity to score some nearly identical pieces — as long as they don’t mind wearing a uniform.

Popeyes has taken a cue from Queen Bey and released a limited-edition collection of jackets, tops, and baseball caps after fans noticed her sporty new line looks a lot like the orange and maroon gear worn by its employees.

The fast-food chain enlisted real-life staffers to model the uniform collection during a professional photo shoot that spoofs Beyoncé’s Adidas x Ivy Park lookbook in the best way possible.

Popeyes did, however, take some liberties with its props.

While the singer was photographed sitting on a bike in one shot, one of the brand’s employees struck a similar pose on a moped with a Popeyes delivery box on the back.

Instead of Beyoncé’s racy maroon leotard, the model wore a similarly-colored sweatshirt over an orange turtleneck and matching bike shorts.

Many of the Homecoming star’s lookbook photos show her standing in front of a marble gray background, which the chicken joint was able to easily replicate with its own models.

The brand’s employees had no problem getting in character, and the photos are nearly identical to the ones in the Adidas x Ivy Park lookbook.

Popeyes’ new line features ten different items from the brand’s uniform selection, and the company has stated that 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to the Popeyes Foundation.

Prices range from $10 for a cap to $40 for a hooded jacket, making it far cheaper than most pieces from the Adidas x Ivy Park collection.

Beyoncé has been open about her love of Popeyes, so much so that the fast-food chain gave her a lifetime membership card that grants her free chicken for life.

When her Adidas x Ivy Park dropped earlier this month, some fans were adamant that she had taken inspiration from the fast-food chain.

‘OMG! Beyonce designed her Ivy Park x Adidas collection in the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich color way. I stan a marketing Queen!’ one person tweeted

‘The color palette is the Popeyes chicken restaurant uniform. And I love it,’ another commented.

‘Y’all. Beyoncé choose that color scheme because she knew that it would sell out as fast as the Popeyes chicken sandwich did,’ someone else insisted.

Interestingly enough, Popeyes wasn’t the only company that thought the Adidas x Ivy Park collection looked like its uniforms.

Sainsbury’s, a chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom, mocked the line’s resemblance to its employees’ clothing.

The company shared a photo of one of its workers wearing its iconic maroon and orange outfit with the caption ‘the original’ written across the front.

‘Repping since 1869,’ Sainsbury’s tweeted, adding the hashtag ‘#SainsBey.’
