But just before taking home the prize for Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her role as Gwen Verdon, she opened about her plans to stay at home in preparation of her family’s new addition.

‘I haven’t taken a job since [Fosse/Verdon]. I have something else I have to go do. I’ll be home, but it’s a hard act to follow,’ she told Us Weekly while touching her baby bump.

Her demanding role as a mom isn’t her only hesitation in jumping back in front of the cameras.

She feels it’ll be hard to find a character as complex and fulfilling as her last.

‘There was singing, dancing. It was such a feast and knowing where to go from here, I feel a little bit stuck. Like, I want that job again. Like, Gwen in her 60s or something. I miss it,’ she told the outlet.

Williams has talked about her optimism of finding love after losing Ledger in 2008.

“I never gave up on love,” she told Vanity Fair in 2018 about moving on. “I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’”
