Prince Harry and Meghan Markle laugh in previously unseen pictures of visit to Grenfell kitchen

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be seen beaming and laughing alongside singer Adele in previously unseen pictures of a visit to the Grenfell community kitchen.

Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, appeared in high spirits in the photographs which were shared online by a fan account, as they posed for snaps with women at the Hubb kitchen in London.

The royals were pictured alongside singer Adele on their visit to the kitchen, who could be seen joining in the fun at the back of the group in one of the snaps.

The images are believed to be from a secret visit made by the royals shortly before Christmas last December, when Meghan gave Harry a tour of the community kitchen where she worked on a charity cookbook alongside Grenfell survivors.

Meghan first visited the west London centre in 2018, when it was set up by a number of local women to provide meals to neighbours affected by the Grenfell fire.

Since then, the duchess has made several other private trips to the kitchen and helped them produce a cookbook, which she launched in September 2018, raising over £500,000 for the charity.

One of those visits was reported to have happened last December, when Prince Harry joined his wife to see the work himself first-hand, on a Thursday evening.

Opening up about Prince Harry’s visit, a royal source told the Mirror: ‘He has met many of the women before at Meghan’s book launch at Kensington Palace, but this was the first time he has visited the kitchen.

‘He loved meeting the women whom his wife has spoken so fondly of over the last year and is a huge supporter of their work.’

In the unseen pictures shared online earlier today, the Duke and Duchess appear in high spirits during their visit.

Meghan donned a chic but understated outfit for the visit, pairing a black polo neck jumper with a smart white blazer jacket.

She wore her long dark hair down, and kept her makeup simple with a touch of highlighter and a sweep of nude lipstick.

Meghan, who suggested the idea of a fundraising cookbook when she first met the women, has previously described it as a ‘tremendous labour of love’.

The kitchen, redesigned with the women’s input to capture its spirit as a place for the community to come together over meals, now opens seven days a week, up from just two when it began last year.

Those involved have also been able to obtain food hygiene qualifications and been empowered to start their own projects for the benefit of the wider community.

The unearthed photographs were shared the same day as Meghan paid tribute to the Grenfell kitchen on Instagram.

Harry and Meghan, who share son Archie together, posted a message on Instagram praising the women for their ‘leadership and inspiration’ yesterday, despite being on a six-week break from royal duties.
