Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has limped off the club training ground after overexerting himself ahead of his side’s clash against Nantes on Saturday evening.

Former Tottenham manager Pochettino is well known for actively joining in with his players, but clearly overdid things and exited Camp des Loges gingerly.

He reportedly picked up a ‘small muscle problem’, but the injury is not expected to be serious.

Pochettino’s predecessor Thomas Tuchel – now at Chelsea – sprained his left ankle including a metatarsal fracture in a similar occurence last season.

The energetic German was forced to hobble around on crutches for several weeks and sat on a drinks cooler with a heavy splint during last campaign’s Champions League quarter-final against Atalanta.

The Argentine also hit the headlines in January after compatriot Angel di Maria celebrated wildly after nutmegging him in a rondo during training.

Pochettino, who played 95 times for the French giants and 20 times for Argentina during his playing career, sees his side host relegation-threatened Nantes on Saturday evening.

His side currently lie second in Ligue 1, two points behind league leaders Lille, who travel to fourth-placed Monaco the same afternoon, although boasting a vastly superior goal difference.

PSG face Lille twice in the next three weeks, with the French Cup quarter-final on Wednesday 17 before a potential title decider on April 3, both at the Parc des Princes.
