PSG’s Mitchel Bakker ‘storms out of warm down and kicks advertising board’ after being overlooked

Mitchel Bakker’s relations at Paris Saint-Germain have taken a step backwards following a reported bust-up with their management at the weekend.

According to L’Equipe, the left back was in a fit of rage with the coaching staff after failing to play a part in their 4-0 Ligue 1 win at Dijon on Saturday.

Since manager Mauricio Pochettino‘s arrival at the French giants in December, Bakker has been demoted as the club’s first-choice left-back – with Layvin Kurzawa taking that mantle.

And on Saturday, Pochettino decided to experiment but still found no room for Bakker as he decided to rest Kurzawa and play Abdou Diallo instead.

And L’Equipe report that a seething Bakker snapped at PSG’s coaching staff post-match while undergoing a cool down with the rest of the unused substitutes.

Evidently unhappy at being overlooked for the Dijon encounter, the defender reportedly booted an advertising board in anger too.

Despite Kurzawa’s best efforts for him to return reportedly calling ‘Mitch, come back, come back’, Bakker stormed off the pitch as he bellowed back ‘no it’s good!’. 

However, after calming down the 20-year-old returned and apologised to coaching staff before finishing his warm down.

The Holland Under 21 international has featured 27 times for PSG so far this season in all competitions, but has been forced to play a bit-part role under Pochettino.

Despite the incident, the victory saw second-placed PSG close the gap on league leaders Lille to two points after they drew 1-1 at home to Strasbourg on Sunday. They also leapfrogged Lyon after they drew 1-1 at Marseille on Sunday too.
