PSV have reportedly contacted Toby Alderweireld’s agent about the possibility of signing the Tottenham defender in the summer.

The Dutch club are eager to sign Alderweireld and feel that the experienced centre-back would be a useful addition to their squad.

As reported by De Telegraaf, PSV made contact with Alderweireld’s agent Stijn Francis.

However, Alderweireld’s history with PSV’s rivals Ajax could prevent a move from happening.

Alderweireld joined Ajax as a youngster and went on to play for them at senior level between 2008 and 2013.

The 31-year-old remains an important player for Tottenham and it would surely take a significant offer for Jose Mourinho’s side to let Alderweireld depart. 

Alderweireld’s current Tottenham contract is set to run until the summer of 2023.

He has made 216 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club in 2015.
