Real Madrid ‘could sell SIX to get the cash to buy Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer’

Real Madrid ‘could sell SIX players to get the cash they need to buy Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this summer… as Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Isco and Marcelo may all leave’ the Spanish giants

Real Madrid could sell up to six players this summer to fund stunningly expensive moves for star forwards Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Sportsmail reported on Saturday the Spanish giants are set to go all out to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland, labelled as successors to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best two players in the world.

Los Blancos will have a sizeable transfer kitty despite the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, but would need a sizeable clearout to afford Mbappe or Haaland, let alone both, with Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale on the exit list.

According to Mundo Deportivo, captain Sergio Ramos and long-serving stalwarts Raphael Varane, Marcelo and Isco are the six on the side’s chopping block.

Real Madrid currently lie third in LaLiga behind Atletico Madrid and adversaries Barcelona and have been knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage in 2019 and 2020, although they face Liverpool in the quarter-final in April.

The club are desperate to return to the domestic and European summit and will therefore press on with trying to build their long-term future by signing the pair as part of what Marca called a ‘major reconstruction’.

Although Haaland’s £65million release clause becomes active next season, Dortmund are demanding around £150million to secure his signature, with a bidding war this summer expected.

Mbappe, contracted until 2022 and with PSG unwilling to sell, would likely cost more, although the 22-year-old has previously described Real Madrid as a dream move.

Contract talks have broken down with veteran skipper Ramos, who could leave the Bernabeu after 16 seasons at the club, while Welsh winger Bale may go despite announcing his intention to return to the Spanish capital.

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has only scored four goals in two campaigns in his injury-hit spell, Varane has had interest from elsewhere, while Isco and Marcelo are out of favour.
