Real Madrid left back Marcelo faces missing their Champions League second leg against Chelsea because he’s been summoned to work at a POLLING STATION for local elections… as his club file an appeal to get him out of it for trip to London

Real Madrid face an anxious wait to see whether Marcelo will be available for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Chelsea next Wednesday.

As part of random selection, Marcelo has been summoned to work at a polling station in the Spanish capital for the Madrid Assembly elections, which are taking place next week.

Election day is May 4 and Real are set to fly to London ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge a day later. 

Marcelo could be unavailable for Real Madrid’s second leg against Chelsea next Wednesday

The Spanish media report that Real have filed an appeal to get the Brazilian relieved of his duties but add that it isn’t a simple process.

El Mundo add, though, that so far Real haven’t been granted an exemption for the 32-year-old.
