But earlier today John completed one last festive challenge before his retirement for hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, carrying a Christmas tree on his head in his back garden.

Viewers were baffled by the strongman but enjoyed his stunt, with one saying the segment was ‘the content I’m here for’ and another saying a man balancing a tree on his head is ‘exactly what we need right now’.

He added: ‘I’m quite famous for balancing a Mini Cooper on my head.’
